Who is Prerak Mehta?

Prerak is Project Manager and Design Lead at Embrace Innovations and was Acumen India Fellow for 2014. He focuses on the area of preventive health for infants in resource constrained settings. He is currently working on empowering the mothers and caregivers to provide high quality medical care to infants through technology and design intervention. He plays an integral role in spearheading the product innovation at the organization’s R&D department.

Previously he has worked to improve healthcare in rural India through projects in neonatal and maternal healthcare, diabetes management, medication adherence and remote diagnostics. He is regularly invited to conduct workshops on Human Centred Design, like Teach For India Fellows Jan-2015, TEDx Gateway Masterclass Nov-2014, UXIndia International Conference Oct-2014. His design work in healthcare and education has been published and exhibited in Design Research Society's DRSBangkok2012 International Conference at Bangkok, Design Society’s ICED’11 International Conference at Denmark, MobilePlus at Chennai and ICORD’11 at Bangalore. Prerak holds a Master’s Degree in Design from Industrial Design Centre, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering.
