Stereoscopy Experiments

Premise: Understand the basics of stereoscopy as a technique and learn the techniques of making stereoscopic anaglyph images that can be seen with the help of anaglyph glasses.

Process: The initial experiments with stereoscopic photography revolved around trying to explore the technique. Day to day places along with some toys were photographed (both the left and right eye images) and an attempt was made to make them anaglyphic stereoscopic images. Later on an attempt was made to shoot entire compositions depicting the concept. The characters and objects were taken to the photo studio and carefully placed in different compositions. Various camera angles and compositions were tried. A much better understanding of the technicalities involved in making a good anaglyphic stereoscopic image was realized and also the creativity required in making a composition which would be suitable for a stereoscopic image was bolstered.

Outcome: A set of 5 stereoscopic anaglyph posters inspired from pop comic art theme.
